Nu Life Principles are everyday life skills that people need and young people should learn before they hit the real world. The principles are basic coping skills in life that we take for granted every day. We learn either by experience or example, but either way, everyone could use a lot of this information early on in life.

Below is a list of the few life skills that are covered:

Citizenship responsibility

  • The importance of having and maintaining proper identification
  • Applying for jobs, preparing resumes
  • Financial responsibility: banking, credit, paying bills, saving money
  • Knowing the basics of the law
  • Starting a business
  • Basic vehicle maintenance
  • Critical thinking and research
  • Importance of reading and proper writing skills
  • Knowing CPR
  • Firearm safety

Personal responsibility

  • Proper hygiene
  • Home cleanliness
  • Landry, cooking, ironing and sewing
  • Being drug dree and understanding sex education
  • How to care for a newborn and raise children
  • Family history and ancestry
  • How to swim

Basic ethics

  • Taking responsibility for own actions
  • Honesty in life
